Opis

The Polish and Slavic Center will receive bids for the roof replacement construction project at 176 Java Street, Brooklyn, NY 11222, until 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 176 Java Street, Room 3, Brooklyn, NY 11222. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 4:00 PM on October 29, 2024, at 176 Java Street, Krakus Senior Center (in the cellar), Brooklyn, NY 11222.

Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work related to the renovation of its main roof. The project includes site preparation, scaffolding, asbestos and lead removal, demolition, new roofing installation, and the front parapet wall reconstruction. Additional tasks involve installing flashings, guard railings and re-installing existing roof elements.

Digital copies of the Bid/Contract Documents may be obtained electronically by sending an email request to [email protected].

A walkthrough of the site will be offered at 176 Java Street at noon on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, for all respondents. Attendance is not mandatory but encouraged. All questions about this bid must be submitted in writing to [email protected] by 5:00 PM on October 18, 2024. Response to all questions will be posted as an amendment to the bid package and provided to all respondents by October 22, 2024.

A bid bond of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the Polish and Slavic Center or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted instead of the Bid Bond.

The project to be constructed will be financed with assistance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Community Project Funding program and is subject to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. The successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin. Adherence to the Polish and Slavic Center Section 3 Policy is required for all contracts.

All contractors and subcontractors must be cleared (not suspended or debarred) before any formal action authorizing the award of a contract to the contractor. Minority Business Enterprises, Small Business Enterprises, Women Business Enterprises, Section 3 Businesses, and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to submit bids.

The Polish and Slavic Center, Inc. reserves the right to reject all bids or waive any informalities in the bidding. The Polish and Slavic Center may hold bids for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening to review the bids and investigate the bidder’s qualifications prior to the contract award.
